Yonge & Eglinton

The intersection grew into North Toronto's commercial centre after the Yonge subway reached Eglinton in 1954. Office and apartment towers followed through the 1970s and 1980s, and the Eglinton Crosstown has driven another round of construction around the corner.

Dense and highly walkable, with restaurants, cinemas, gyms and offices concentrated at the intersection and quieter residential streets beginning within a couple of blocks in every direction.

Condominium and rental apartments dominate close to the corner, giving way quickly to detached and semi-detached houses on the surrounding streets.
